What Can You Put in Junk Removal?
Short version: if it's junk and it's not hazardous, we'll take it. Furniture, appliances, electronics, mattresses, yard waste, construction debris, the works. Here's the full rundown of what we haul and the short list of what we can't.
People are always surprised by how much a junk removal crew will actually take. The list is long, and the stuff we turn down is short. At Junk N' Your Trunk the rule is simple: almost everything is fair game, except a handful of hazardous items that legally require special disposal. Below is exactly what fits in the truck and what doesn't.
The Big List of What We DO Take
If it's in your house, garage, yard, or job site and you're done with it, chances are we'll haul it. Common stuff we clear out every week:
- Furniture, couches, recliners, dressers, tables, desks, mattresses, and box springs
- Appliances, refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, water heaters
- Electronics, TVs, computers, monitors, printers, and other e-waste
- Yard waste, brush, limbs, leaves, and overgrowth
- Construction debris, drywall, lumber, flooring, and renovation leftovers
- Big outdoor stuff, hot tubs, sheds, trampolines, and swing sets or playsets
Whole-house, estate, and foreclosure cleanouts fall right in here too, if it needs to go, we load it and go. Basically, if you can point at it and say "get rid of that," it's on the table. We handle single items, one packed room, or an entire property stuffed floor to ceiling, and the process is the same either way: we look, we quote, we haul.
The Short List of What We CAN'T Take
There's really only one category we have to say no to: hazardous materials. Specifically:
- Wet or liquid paint
- Chemicals and solvents
- Asbestos
- Motor oil and other automotive fluids
That's the list. If you're not sure whether something counts, just ask us when you call, we'd rather sort it out up front than surprise you at the curb.
Why Those Rules Exist
It's not us being picky. Hazardous materials are regulated for real reasons: paint and chemicals leach into groundwater, asbestos fibers are a serious health risk when disturbed, and motor oil contaminates soil. Landfills won't accept them, and hauling them requires licensed, specialized handling that a junk-removal truck simply isn't set up for. Taking them the wrong way would be illegal and dangerous, and we do things the right way.
Rule of thumb: if it could poison the ground or catch fire, we probably can't take it. Everything else, bring it on.
What to Do With the Stuff We Can't Take
You're not stuck with it. Most counties in NW Georgia run household hazardous waste collection days, and many hardware and auto-parts stores take back paint, motor oil, and old batteries for free. A quick call to your county solid-waste office will point you to the nearest drop-off. Once that's handled, we'll gladly grab everything else in the same trip. And if you're ever unsure whether one oddball item crosses the line, just describe it when you call, we'd rather answer the question up front than leave you guessing.
Not Sure If We'll Take It?
No bull. Call or text and describe it, we'll tell you straight and give you a free quote.

What Junk Removal Takes FAQ
Do you take electronics and TVs?
Yes. Old TVs, computers, monitors, printers, and other electronics are fine. We haul them off and recycle them the right way instead of leaving them to leach in a landfill.
Do you take hazardous materials?
No. We can't take hazardous materials, that means wet paint, chemicals, asbestos, and motor oil. Those require special licensed disposal that a junk hauler isn't set up for.
Do you take old paint?
Wet or liquid paint, no, it's considered hazardous. If it's fully dried out and hardened in the can, it's usually fine to include. When in doubt, just ask us before we come out.
Is there anything you won't take?
Only hazardous materials: wet paint, chemicals, asbestos, and motor oil. Just about everything else, furniture, appliances, electronics, mattresses, yard waste, construction debris, hot tubs, and sheds, we'll haul.
